What is PDC

Parktronic uses ultrasonic sensors embedded in the rear and/or front bumpers, to measure distance to nearby objects by timing how long it takes for sound waves to be reflected off them. The system then emits an intermittent warning tone inside the vehicle to indicate how far the car is from an obstacle. As the distance decreases, the warning tone becomes faster, allowing the motorist to judge the distance from the vehicle to the object. The system may start emitting sounds when the car is approximately 1.0, 1.2, or 1.8 metres from the obstacle. The tone becomes continuous when the distances closes to about 300 millimetres (12 in). In some vehicles, it may also offer visual feedback through an LCD display on the dashboard. Parktronic can be switched off for situations such as stop-and-go traffic.

How complete it?

You have two way to connect it...

1. way:

First you must open LED Parking Sensor kit

Connect it trough SV1 connector which is used to connect the buzzer and the main unit of the Parking Sensor kit, in accordance to the following connection diagram:

2. way:

Parking Sensors kit (the LED system) can be connected to the USB interface also by a wireless link, but to do this, you must open the original LED display and remove the internal receiver. Of course in this way the display will become unusable, so if you're planning to use this last in combination with the PC, it is better the wired connection.

After removing the two small screws in the bottom, it's possible to open the LED display and unsolder the receiver module (be careful because you can damage it).

The receiver module must to be soldered directly on the PCB interface through the headers pin JP1 and JP2, while, on the pin JP3, must to be soldered an isolated wire long about 20 cm (8") or more, as antenna.

If you would like use 2 USB boards together as front&rear you must use one normal v 1.00 PIC and other special V1.10 PIC. In one board you can use normal wireless connection other box with connected sensors you must modify!!! You can connect both board by wired connection too...

If you would like have one wireless and one wired connection you must modify box which will be connected by wire and remove wireless part. You can see what you must remove in next pictures:

Read this!!!

My board you can use only with LED Parking Sensor kit. On request is avalible board for LCD Parking Sensor kit (waiting 7-14days), but I recommend LED kit because have 1cm accuracy, we can display sliders for each sensor and is cheaper. In both cases is possible (and recommended) to connect a buzzer (or beeper) to the interface, that will provide an alarm sound like the one provided by original Parking Sensor kit. The advantage of this solution is that when the system detects an obstacle in the dangerous range, it will give out a beep also if the PC has not yet booted.
